Sara Zigman’s work is typically highly chromatic, bold, and textural. Sara is known for her large-scale murals that she has done for the past 20 years as well as her modern and pop fine artwork. She is constantly challenging herself by developing new techniques and products, especially her current passion for 3D art. Her assemblages of highly vibrant, textural hand-painted pieces such as her Marbles series and Cubes that stand alone as moveable, touchable sculptures, or grouped together to form large floating configurations on a wall make quite a statement when either viewed closely or from afar. It creates a unique experience from every angle the viewer will see the work depending on their vantage point.
Her past experience as a retailer, manufacturer, and artist has led to the creation of her new line of home and office decor products.
As a mother of four including triplets, she believes that having freestanding art in your home CAN be practical. Your home should allow for artistic expression while remaining safe for your children. Her design house, sarabeth designs, focuses on developing beautiful design merged with functionality to create decor products that fill your home with good energy and a healthy dose of color.
Sara believes the future of her career exists in the world of combining her love of modern design and apply it with her desire to make objets d’art that can be attainable to all regardless of price or being exposed to little hands. She was brought up as a child to appreciate the world of Eames, Knoll, Jacobsen and Noguchi. Her largest artist influences have been Matisse, Calder, Morris Lewis, Vasarely, Warhol, Agam and Britto. The merge of good design with both form and function is her guiding mantra.
